hooked the bat wing brush hog up yesterday and want to mow some of the hills, have a water way that drains part of east field, was watching the wing of the cutter and bottom dropped out on one side. did not know a wash out started but weight of tractor caved it in dropped front and back both about 36 inches down in the hole. called oldest son up to bring chains and I walked up to the back farm and got the 2470 case out, we ended up using the 3 point to raise the front end and did hard right on the brake and walked it out. only thing hurt beside my pride was it crushed the left side step. but I do have a spare set I picked up on auction so will replace this weekend.

I bet that was scary ! We dropped a case 7140 with a loader In a sink hole one time it was big enough all that was sticking out was the cab and the hind wheels took two 8400 John Deere?s to pull it out

Must be a trend.
Was out trimming the lake bank with the boom mower, and foud
This.

Had to lift it out.

Your pride should be intact. Had it been the wheel on the other side it would have rolled. BTDT. No fun at all.

Oh, man - that had to make your heart flutter!

Makes me think of kcm's "Oops, it's Monday pictures!" that he posts.

Man that would give you a sinking feeling. Definitely has the " O s....." factor and it happens so fast.!!!

That happens here too from muskrats tunneling into the bank.

I had my Silver King tractor at a show one time, a Family walked by, looking it over. One of them asked if I wanted to buy another one. "Run Good."they said. I told them I was interested. We drove several hours to their farm. They said the tractor was 'round back. There it was, laying over. They said they were raking hay, hit a groundhog hole, and broke the axle off the side of the transmission. the axle and tire were lying elsewhere. I was thinking, "I have a housing, I can repair that." I looked further, the engine was locked tight. I looked it over more, and found other problems. I was still interested, until they told me the price, FIRM. The price was equal to a good, complete, working tractor! yeah, Ran When Parked. We left it there.

That's quite a ride. Hope the hitch on the mower wasn't bent. Course the hitch on that 86 is probably loose enough to prevent that.
