What grade engine oil would you guys use in a 500 diesel?

any 15-30 grade diesel oil. my choice is not shell. mobil is a better oil.

I agree in the 15W-40 Diesel rated Rotella or Delvac.

I used JD 15W-40 plus 50. It?s what we use in all our equipment.

Any quality brand 15-40 diesel oil is good for them. All oil today is better than what was available then. But then I don't know how they do it in your country.

15-40 Delvac, and it's dirt cheap now, but probably not where you are! Less that 2 USD per liter here.

Thanks guys that?s what I needed to know and yes we have that oil grade here in Scotland. Don?t know of any other 500?s though.

Agree with the 15-40 Rotella or Delvac but what I really think is that you are a very lucky man to have a Case 500 in Scotland. I bet it gets everyone's attention when you fire it up.

Well yes I am very lucky to have one but all my US produced
tractors have been due to lots of searching, planning and hard
work. You guys are always so helpful in sorting out my
problems. Over your way for another road trip shortly, cannot
wait.

If you care to share, where are you going on your next road trip? Are you planning it around certain events you want to go to, or just certain places? Interesting to hear where someone from another country would pick to travel in the US.
