How easy should a Ford 2n motor turn over with a hand crank? Parts missing..... starter, carb, governor and distributor, don't know if that affects how easy it turns. Spark plugs are in. It turns really, really easy .......

I personally dont know but the way your describing it sounds like something is a miss . I would think it would have a little resistance

We have a '39 Allis B ,hand crank and it sure doesn't spin that easy.......starts good but can't just stick crank in and one hand turn it around and around!

With the plugs in (and tight), you should be able to feel the compression stroke on each cyl. as you rotate the crank handle slowly - you have a problem.

With those parts off, it can't kick back, so you could spin the crank. If you barely feel compression resistance when spinning it, or no change at all, the valves may be stuck open. Or the rings ar not touching the cylinder walls!! Jim

ounds right if plugs removed.

Easy test, pull the plugs, hold your thumb over one plug hole at a time, have someone crank it through.

You should not be able to stop the compression with your thumb. If you can, or there is no compression, assume stuck valves.
