John Deere 500C Hydralic fluid coming out of Trans Boot

Machine sitting for years, Got everything working , But foamy hydraulic fluid coming out of boot that is for engaging and disengaging trans. Fluid level goo, Changes both filters and cleaning the screen, Ran well than started foaming. Only 10 gallons of fluid came out , Maybe the remaining fluid re clogged the screen and filters? The fluid was very dirty , Any ideas? Is there a screen I am missing in the main line from the pump?
Thanks

On my 500c i had to change the fluid and filters 3 times before i got rid of the foaming---must have been a lot of water in the transmission

Thanks for your response. It would make sense due to the fact there is old fluid in the machine. Will I have to buy new filters or can these be cleaned up.

Thanks

those are screw on filters if i remember right? I suppose you could try dousing them in diesel fuel to get the foam out and then drain them well

The hyd filters from JD are very expensive. They cost a little over $10. Yes there's a hyd screen that needs to be checked/cleaned. See photo below look for hand writing on photo.

Are you using hygard oil or an aftermarket oil? I have heard of problems with foaming using aftermarket oils in some systems. Don't know if that is the case here or not. If it had water in it. Let it set in a container for a while, and it will settle out to the bottom. Then you can either drain the water off from the bottom or let it freeze the water and pour the oil off the top. I have done it both ways . I have 2 partial barrels I am going to let freeze then pour the oil off the top this winter. If you need it now pour the oil into a container and heat some. The water will evaporate out. Check with an electric mixer if it gets other than oil looking when the mixer is on it needs more time. I have done this also with a tractor to work the water out of the system then put new oil in with filter. Much cheaper than new oil a couple or more times.

I have changes the oil and filters 3 times. The tractor ran for 20 minutes. The trans rubber boot is torn and I can see it bubbling and then it spills over. I also cleaned the screen ( 8" long each time.) Are there any other filters maybe in line with piping that I am missing. Or does this bubbling always occur with temperature and the boot contains any fluid.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Can you please post a photo of this torn rubber boot where you can see hyd oil bubble? In addition to external hyd filter & sump screen there should be a small filter in frt hyd pump.

I changed the oil and filters 3x. The last time the oil looked good.
I was told that where the oil is coming up on the engage boot under the steering wheel should be the low pressure side of the pump. I changed the boot and ran the machine and after 20 minutes the boot started blowing up and poked a hole . This was high pressure. Is there a seal separating the high pressure from the low pressure in the main pump?
I think I am getting close. Would like the experts to weigh in.
Thanks in Advance
