Way too hot to get any major projects done. Yesterday I decided to clean out the radiator fin chaff while the tractor was out. Then I cleaned the oil bath cup and screens. I had pulled the hood, so decided to adjust the valves. Today I switched my middle buster rip shank for the potato shovel. I dug a row of red potatoes. Finished up shortly before a big T storm hit. I was planning to spray alfalfa. I suppose do that tomorrow.

99 here today at one time.Went and tried out my Long/Landini R9500 for the first time on the offset disk on some deer plots love the old beast lots of power has 12 forward speeds I was disking in 10th.It is geared pretty slow which I like.
 
67? powershift. About 6500 hours. Needs new brake pads. After hay season. Needs a new PTO shaft seal too. I put new draw bar bushings in 2 years ago. Had a splitting rusted rear rim fixed last year and put in 2 new rear tubes. I bought the powershift specifically so the wife and kids could bale hay easier than the synchro range. And it really makes a difference when mowing and baling in the fields, being able to shift up and down without stopping. A few seconds here and there adds up.
 
I do not have any powershifts but always thought they would be great for haying. The shifting up and down on headlands ect would definitely add up to more work done. Tom
 
After picking up all potatoes you can find take a springtooth harrow set deep and go over the area and pickup up as many potatoes as first time picking up. do that 3 times and you will still be leaving potatoes that you have not yet found. That is the way we did it 50 years ago.
 
It makes it nice because you can run faster in the light hay and slower where it?s thick and on the headlands all without the clutch that?s the nice part if I ever get this round baler going Powershift will be nice to stop and start when tying the bale
