Dodge 3500 tractor hauler warning chime

You know that irritating loud chime when the key is turned on or the seatbelt is off or a service code is detected? Today was the last day for mine. Took the dash apart, pulled the instrument cluster, unsoldered the chime from the back of the circuit board, reassembled everything all in about an hour. No more chime.
Any information that chimed will still be delivered visually on the dash or ceiling console.

Wifes mazda pickup is about to get same kinda
treatment.its as annoying as those old low air
pressure buzzers in big trucks or those kyser
engine safety warning system

Hopefully the dash won't rattle or squeak too badly after being disassembled. That tends to happen even when dealers do the work.

Don't you wish you could cast a spell and have the ding ding go off in the heads of the people responsible for that nonsense every time it goes off in a vehicle you are driving.

Maybe it varies by model year, but I turned that stuff off on my 05 14 years ago. Is your truck not able to be programmed from the driver's seat?

Timcasbolt, I programmed off the seatbelt chime years ago but this quiets everything. Trouble codes, key in ignition, door open, butt not wiped, etc.

My '96 Dodge 2500 has the chime module in the pocket in the door, it had been removed before I bought the truck and I have never looked for where to plug it in.
