Fix a flat Green slime etc.

Small front tire on the Farmall cub has bicycle fix a flat in it. It has been in there with no issues for 2 years.

(quoted from post at 09:35:41 07/20/19) Do these work or which is the best?
y experience has been that many of such only serve to severely corrode wheels/rims! Never again!!!

Its a messy nightmare for tires shops later on when you need the tires replaced
my techs at my dealership hate it
its a mess to clean up when you brake the tire down

Hundreds of zero turn lawn mower tires running around with green slime in it around here. Folks run wire, nails, thorns and ever thing else in them , a good shout of slime and they are ready to go most of the time.

I ran one of these products for years in one front tire of my JD lawn mower, until finally it just rotted out. Tire guy had no comment about problems with slime when he mounted a new tire. But maybe he upcharged me for labor.

About 20 years ago I ran over some thorns with the front wheel of my wagon , I put slim in and the tire is still going strong. I use the product and swear by it.

Slime corroded my Cub Cadet front wheel so that it wouldn't hold air. New one cheapest price $8- Finally found one in mower salvage yard online, $40.

The left rear in my F250 had a slow leak nobody could find. I got tired of constantly pumping it up so I slimed it. Been up for two or more years now. Had a skidsteer tire the leaking hyd oil was rotting to sidewall out of. I needed a few more days until I could replace it. Added slime and lasted for a month until the side went completely bad.

This is what slime looks like after several years in the front wheel of my little JD 160 lawn tractor. Had to wire wheel the rim and give it a shot of Rustoleome paint. Had a little rust. The slime was like taffy. It does work but it is not forever. Sooner or later just put a tube in the supid thing. As another said about Zero turns with thorns and stuff like that....you bet slime is the wonder drug.

I've used fix a flat and slime. Didn't notice that one was better than the other, but they both usually work.

If I had to choose between a tire plug and slime, use the Slime. Neither are a cure but each my get you going again. I had a D-17 and I could not keep the front tires up from all of the thorns I picked up brush hogging. New tubes and Slime and I only had to air them up once a year.

Im thinking about tak8ng some front tires and those pesky 2.50x 4 tires on my finish mower to a tire shop get em foam filled.they will last till the tire rots off

I got like half a gallon of slime in a tire on my disk, i know the tire guys dont like it but it was a new tire that came home from the tired shop with so many bead leaks it would hold air for more then a few hours and i didnt have time to fix it myself. Been holding air very good since i put slime in it.

When I bought this mower new for the city I worked for, I ordered solid tires on it hoping to cut down on flats. After 1 year, we changed it over to pneumatic tires because the solid tires were beating it to death. After 15 years, we sold the mower when we replaced the tractor. That's when I bought the mower 12 years ago. I would caution foam filling unless your grass is golf course smooth. Small foam filled tires I've seen are rock hard.
