They made less than 100 Oliver SP choppers...This one was sold new at the Emporia,KS Oliver dealer in 1971..

The Fox chopper is basically brand new.....It was first used the day before..I was at the sale 6 years ago near Madison,KS ago where this chopper was sold on an estate sale.....The late owner had never used it and a Fox blower..

They only allowed me 10 pictures so I missed one combine...The day before they had more combines in the field..

That looks like a first class show. While I have never had any Oliver tractors or equipment, the equipment in those pictures looks like the kind of farm equipment I?d be very comfortable operating. Really like those 4 digit Oliver tractors.

1206SWMO I truly enjoy the pictures, the commentary and the time you put into showing all of these all the time.
I for one am truly grateful. Wish I had heatrd about this as I live near Manhattan, KS.
Again thank you.

Blane, thanks for the pictures of the show. do you recall what model the Fox chopper was? there were only a couple models that had the 20" truck tires, vs regular 16" implement tires, but I'm drawing a blank on the numbers. I have a Fox Super 90 pull behind, and an original SPF self propelled, and the 6250 that tried to cut my leg off. (it failed, and I survived a little worse for wear.)

Thanks. I've sometimes thought it would be fun to try to gather a complete set of Uni System implements and base unit. Then I lie down for a few minutes and the idea passes.

Cats pajamas?????????????????????????????????????????/ If my cat started wearing pajamas it would be no longer living in my home!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks 1206--I really like that old 33 Oliver combine-drove to Wisc. to buy one but never brought it home...

When thinking about a Uni this comes to mind "Anything that does everything does nothing right" LOL. They were a great corn picker and your idea of a collection does sound neat. Tom

Thanks for posting. Oliver had some very good equipment in their day. There were a few Oliver balers around home and lots of plows, discs and planters. Tom

Bill, heres a picture of that new Fox chopper the day it sold in Sept 2012..I'm glad that it went to a collector...Dont know the number of it..There was a barely used Fox SP chopper that got sold for scrap at that sale...Someone did buy the 4-71 Detroit from it..

one inch bearings and roller chain, don't forget the one inch bearings.

Anyone who had a uni combine knows what I am talking about.
