Looking to change oil and Filter.

I have a White 2-32 diesel tractor. I've owned it 6 months and it didn't come with manual. need to find out what kind of oil it takes and where the oil filter is located.. [/b]

I don't know that tractor but I think if you took the side panels off the tractor you would find the oil filter. This time of year you would probably be alright with 10W-30 diesel engine oil.

A diesel engine combusts at a higher cylinder pressure than a gas engine. The additives in diesel engine oil help to deal with the higher pressure. Also diesel runs dirtier than gas and the diesel engine oil helps clean better.

I would use 14-40 Delvac or Rotella, that's what most people do. As far as the oil filter, take the side covers off and there
it should be. Go to a parts store and buy a new filter and find the one on the tractor that looks the same. I am not familiar
with Whites, on my tractor the filter screws right on the side of the engine, but some are remote. There is probably a
hydraulic filter somewhere too.

Diesel oil can have Zink in it, which gives sliding parts more wear protection. Modern gasoline highway vehicles cannot use
oil with Zink because it plugs the catalytic converter. Diesel oil works well in old gasoline tractors too because they have
sliding parts.
