Quick drying hay

Cut the triticale 10 days ago and baled it . Going to start on meadow hay next probably cut the one field Thursday and hope to bale Saturday around ten pm and haul it that afternoon . Hope the international baler will run as well this year as last

I cut some grass hay couple or three weeks ago. 75 degree weather but no humidity. Cut weds. morning and baled fri. evening. Square baled it. Pretty dry. The humidity means a lot.

lucky you. my hay is 3 ft high and ready but too much rain and water standing. cant even get into the field to spray the crop. in central alberta. 6" of rain in the last few weeks.

Thats fast for Iowa hay this year. My second cutting Alfalfa is starting to bloom and it looks like we might have a dry weather window this week so tomorrow it goes down. My son and his daughters and his one daughters boyfriend will have to put it up.

Prairie grass in Oklahoma after it gets hot, like 100F-105F with a light breeze start mowing at 11 AM after dew is off and better be ready to start baling a 2:00 PM or 3:00 PM or it starts getting too dry.

I like most of it, but because I grew up doing it the hard way, I like square baling some. Getting too old though. But something about the lack of needing to think hard, just do the work, appeals to me. Guess I need to make more money, but I don't owe any. Think best way to do is the way I want.

Here in east Texas, I almost always cut first day, tedder the second day and bale the third day. We are almost finished hauling (small square bales) to the barn now. First cutting this year due to rain. Didn't cut the whole field. Looking to cut the rest a little later.

Here in Ohio several fields not even had 1st cut yet. Some have and I have no idea how they got it dry as it seems to rain every day.

Maybe five years ago I mowed grass first thing in the morning, no dew. I baled that afternoon. Very dry ground and no moisture left in the stem.

Yes It does it was still a little tough so we ran the preservative on it but it was that or get this inch of rain we just had on it then it would?ve taken another month to dry
