The only one I've ever used is permatex thread sealant. Works fine but every time you use it you have to add lacquer thinner to it every time you use it as it's bad to thicken up in the can.
 
I would think a Loctite product made for studs might be a good idea. That way they will stay put when trying to torque down the nuts and not wedge down in the hole and bust it.
