Hydraulics For Farmall B

Got a Farmall B. Don't think they ever put a hydraulic system on the Bs? Anyone know if a pump off an A or other C 113 will fit?

They came with an exhaust lift, no hydraulics
However the engine from a super A (or c) will fit.
The engine in an A and a super A are almost identical EXCEPT the super A engine has
a little bump out on the timing gear housing (block casting) which is tapped with a hole to mount a pump
driven off the timing gear. The cylinder and rockshaft from a super A will fit .
Or if you have access to a super A from a recycle yard or donor tractor, take everything
from the clutch forward. OK OK I know the front wheels are different not so difficult to change.
good luck

Back many years ago I built a sickle bar mower for a B I had. I needed hyds so I took an old Chevy power steering pump and mounted it so the fan belt drove it and plumbed up a valve and I then had hyds to lift the sickle mower and it worked well. I traded it for the NH850 round baler I have and last I heard the hyds where still doing there job

I put a Char=Lynn PTO pump on mine. I drive it by chain from the belt pulley drive. The drive sprocket on the belt drive has about half as many teeth as the sprocket on the pump has.

Only if your "B" has a newer/replacement block with a block off plate covering the potential pump mounting location.

(Hydraulics showed up only the "Super A's.)

Old we did the same thing on a WC Allis. The pump had enough power to lift a flair box of ear corn. Cheap and easy to do
