For the cuber started at 4 am and finished just in time to be 5 minutes late for work

Couldn't possibly do any haying around here at that time. This morning at 9 am I had to walk through waist high grass and got completely soaked to the waist, water was dripping from my pants. We are lucky on good years to be able to rake by 11am.

On good days with wind we might get started as early as 9, but more often 10 or later to rake and start baling about noon or so. We can usually run to an hour before sunset unless it's going to rain, then dew does not come on and we can keep going. No night baling or combining of small grains or beans here unless rain is coming and there is no dew. Late fall when it freezes after dark you can sometimes take frozen beans after dark.

We sometimes get a heavy dew on good moisture years but usually the dew point Is 20 degrees lower than low temperature for the night which can make it really fun trying bale just wait until dark so it?s a tiny bit cooler so you don?t beat all the leaves off
