It's a mowing hazard. I'd bring your strong negotiating skills to the table, start with offer to haul it away for free.

(quoted from post at 07:16:05 06/28/19) Start with charging to haul and work your way up to free.

Good idea.

To martrnluke: What did you have in mind? Don't be shy, you're among friends here. Someone might have a good idea on how to go about your project.

This may be a Case 224 articulating tractor. There is a video showing the frame basically as you have. The original paint color appears to be caramel orange similar to what Case used.

There is nothing in any of those pictures that suggest a Case 224 frame and the hydraulic motor is not on the front of the differential pictured and the frame is all wrong for the motor to mount in.

I am not an armchair dreamer when it comes to fabricating a Case 4WD articulated tractor. This fabrication in progress is 2 444's married together.

I googled your reference Case Sneaker. The pictures in the post could be the frame of a Davis compact trencher, but definitely not a garden tractor. The casting on the back does resemble a backhoe tower for the hoe boom to mount to.

I am looking to build an articulating garden tractor that I can mow till and do pretty much anything with. But the most important part is I am only 30 years old and I am medically retired so I am looking for something to pass my time as well. I enjoy building things but I am new to the hobby, the tractor in the pics are the only pics I have I plan to go look at it in a few days and it is pretty cheap, only 200 for it. I was just hoping to try and get any info possible before negotiating on price. I'm not wanting to spend 10k on the project just for the tractor id like to keep it around 2500 for just the tractor total I have a welder and am ok with it, it is a Hobart ironman 230mig should do anything I ask of it. I'm just not too knowledgable on hydraulics and tractor equipment to really know where to start

Sounds like a project like this is a good way to keep active, get the grey cells working--just keep yourself in the game. BUT...I think the piece in the weeds is a far cry from $200. Looks to have been picked apart then stomped on. Asking price is unrealistic in my view. I know we're not talking about huge money, but it's more the principle--$200 would buy a lot of welding supplies and some parts. Maybe find a better starting point if you keep on looking. If you're set on the machine pictured, may be useful for parts, but looks like someone's been there before you.

Check in again, let us know how it goes with this or anything else you find.
