Put many a motor in a barrel but guess I did it wrong as I filled the barrel with water and prop inside barrel. Didn't get very far.

My brother and I put a 15 horse Evenrude on a 8 foot long boat from a carnival Roundy round boat ride. With us on it it was near sunk to start with. The 8 acre lake was insufficient, but none the less we got it to speed, The transom wake was higher than the transom, we had to take 2 trips around the lake to slow down enough to avoid swamping it. We then went to a 3 horse Elgin, Much higher success. With only one person on board. With the big engine, two were required to keep the motor weight from sinking it when put in the water. Jim
