I hope is smiling down from heaven tonight . Got the welder going yesterday and I took a crack at running a few beads need to adjust my technique not quite burning through a 3/8 plate on the whole pass .

Talk about a sweet running welder and it will lay down a nice smooth bead

SV A generated DC welderr will just about always make a really smooth weld. I like the big old Hobart or Lincoln six cylinder ones the best. Mine only runs at 1800 RPM for 100% power and duty cycle.

Here is my Hobart. In the picture it is stored while I got the trailer sand blasted/painted. If I am doing much stick welding I will go get it for the job, even inside the shop. It just runs a much better weld than any electric ran welder I have owned.

The welds in the picture where made with it. Pretty good considering my 12 year old Grandson ran them all but the second one up from the bottom. Was his first time stick welding too. I ran the one to show him what he wanted them to look like. This was several years ago. He is really good with the wire feed welder today.

Pretty good welds for the a first timer look as good as mine and I?ve welded a long time . I?ve been running it on AC I?ll have to look at my rod and see if it?ll burn DC

This reminds me of puddles. I had hoped the he would be back. He always had good input to offer.

I had a Lincoln Pipeliner with a 4 cyl Continental. Smoothest running welder I ever used, and I welded in the nuclear powerhouses. I was very impressed with the job he did restoring the old Pipeliners. Beautiful work!!!
