Rotten dirty job...

Pulled the marker arm assembly out of the 7000 planter today. Every last piece. I was pretty heavily persuaded that the leak was in the steel pipe inside but when I pulled it out it still had paint on it and no sign of a leak. Ran the whole system and could not spot a defect. One small mouse nest deep in there soaked like everything else (including me) in hydraulic fluid. Hooked the whole system back together outside the planter and fired up the tractor. Found that leak pretty darn quick after that. Used a whole bag of kitty litter cleaning up the shop afterward. Twas a crack in the short hydraulic hose at the cylinder. Took it off, dropped it at the hose shop, waiting on a call. Short job putting it back together later this week. Should be problem solved but, jeez...what a mess!

Corn is up today too. Temps have been pretty cool, lots of rain and very little sun. Lot of corn popping up though. Good to see. Only one other field planted around me and is corn also.

Need to pull mine too. It doesn't want to switch arms. It sucks to go half way across the field before seeing I'm marking the wrong side.
