N Series Ford loader question

Posted yesterday evening about a hole cut into an Nseries ford that is at my house for a friend.
This loader came with it...how do I check the oil level?
There is a plug almost at the top of the frame- I assume this is the fill hole...is it also a level check? Do I check it with the loader lowered? The hyd pump is front mounted.
Thanks in advance.

Loader all the way down. 'full' is anywhere to from where the loader will lift to full hight,to where you can just see the oil at the fill plug.Pretty 'low tech'.BTW,you should have a vented plug on there.A nonvented/'sealed' system will creat vacume and air locks.

If the loader goes all the way up smoothly, it is full. If it gets jumpy as you go to maximum height, it is low on oil.

I think there is a vent where the upper reservoir/frame tube joins the cross bar pivot.
