Please explain what the reason is

We worked in a guys hay feild. I looks at his john deere and never could figure out what the reason was or why someone would do this. Please explain

sure looks to me to be an easy way to change the pitch on the moldboard plow when going back and forth between strike-outs and in-furrow operation.

A right side hydraulic cylinder in place of a screw jack is an easy way to change the pitch of the plow when opening the field, or finishing a dead or back furrow. It is also really fantastic for a back blade!! Jim

i did the same thing on my kubota L3400, works great for grading the driveway,

I am with Janicholson on this-I bet he uses a back blade on this, digging ditches or something similar. Mark.
