Something I wouldn't do

My youngest son called last night for Father's day since he had to work and couldn't visit. He was on his first tower build. He has been working on them for years, but this was the first his built from the ground up. He has been the crew foreman for a long while now.

Was supposed to be done on Friday, but the weather didn't cooperate.

I'm always amazed he can climb those, I have a hard time with a step ladder. This one is 300' tall.
 
He has my respect, they are putting up windmill towers near me I would like to be able to see how they do it but you can't get close enough. Windmill towers are over 400 feet tall and made up of 4 sections. I have seen several of them go by on the road it is amazing how big they are.
 
The height of cranes today is increasing and incredible. That 300 foot tower is a snap as long as the wind is gentle. The 1000 foot towers, how do they get the top sections up there? Helicopters will do it but man that is scary stuff.
 
geezes, imagine that hard work and perseverance in a America would pay off, are you sure he does not want to get on some free gov. program . LOL good job on raising a man
 
Not sure, but something over $30/hr. He also gets lots of hours, altho he is on the road a lot, this one is in Western ND.
 
I never envy a working man; they are the ones that should be the most respected citizens. When I stop at a quick shop and see workers with a ladder rack on his truck and a hard hat on the dash, I just wish I could join then, Construction workers, truckers, farmers, utility workers, mechanics. combat military men. are the backbone of our nation. Politicians, athletes, and entertainers and many of the clergymen, and some law enforcement workers are the parasites.
 
Moonlite .... so now we know you lost every election you ran in, were a klutz at sports, couldn't remember the Lord's Prayer, and got kicked out of the police force. Anything else you can add about your working life? Relax .... yanking yer chain !!!
