put a 451 new Holland on my massey 35 ,picked it up ,now it wont go down. What could have happened?I got off and ran to the house, I was skeered it was gonna blow the TOP off

Something may already be broken.

It should have slowly gone back down with the engine off.

If it's still up the cylinder or something about the lift linkage may be bent or broken.

If it went down, the control linkage is out of adjustment or out of place.

Take a look at this, see if it matches what you have.
