Got new Distributor and need help on Installing and timing on it? 1952 John Deere A.

Turn motor- engine over so that the number one cylinder is blowing compression. Look at where the slot is where the dist. goes. Turn over motor - engine till the slot is horizontal. That should be a starting point to mount the dist. Start it and turn it one way or the other till it runs best and you will be pretty close.

The distributor can be installed 180 degrees out of time. If it does not start, rotate the distributor rotor 180 degrees and re-try, or you can just switch the wires in the distributor from left to right.
