Followup on tractor watch dog

Thanks to everyone that responded to my earlier message. On Friday I posted about our tractor watch dog. I could not find her and then out of the blue she wonders by. She headed down to the end of the driveway where water is running in the ditch. She laid down along the driveway the rest of the day. In the evening we had a storm coming in and she went right into the basement. Yesterday morning we took her to the vet to see what was going on. I suspected her kidneys were shutting down. I was right about that and the vet thought that she had cancer according to the lab reports. The vet thought she might make it through the weekend, but would be in a lot of pain with out any quality of life. Had to make that decision we never like to do. She is now in doggie heaven watching over all of our tractors and chewing on a big steak.

Sorry to hear. That is never ever an easy decision. I'm sure it's for the best. Suffering is no good. Had a few farm dogs that kinda knew they were in bad shape and stayed away from the house the last day or two. Always around, but would never come down to the house. You did the right thing. Never easy to loose a good friend and companion.

My condolences. Not easy losing your friend or making that decision.

Sorry of the loss of your friend. I have gone through that more times than I want to remember. It is never easy. Just know you gave the dog a good life. You have all the good memories. Stan

sorry to hear about your friend passing. I've had a few friends pass in this life some of the best never talked but listened like your friend.

I'm sorry for your painful loss. It's so easy to become attached to a good dog. Considering the amazing variety of shapes and sizes and colors and hair styles and personalities that have been bred into dogs over the years, I've often wondered why it has been impossible to breed longer lives into them. A dozen or so years, on average, seems so unfair.

Sorry for the loss of your <a href="https://www.reshareworthy.com/20-facts-for-dog-lovers/#XO8M9WZ817g3XAGH.01">long time companion</a>.

At least you did find her and know what happened. I had to have one put down due to cancer.

Give yourself time to heal and then go to a dog rescue center and pick out one you like and save his or her life and you will feel better and you won't have to go thru that stage of a puppy chewing up everything you forgot to pickup.
