Hi: Voltage across battery - 12.54, across starter posts - 11.6 or 10.9 depending on position of the switch. So it appears to me that juice is getting there. I checked readings on the gearbox safety switch in start position and not in start position, but get no readings. Any next step suggestions? Also, I have a diesel leak from the pump and it gets on the starter. Could this have killed the starter? pz

What symptoms are you getting?

I'm assuming there is no attempted crank, no solenoid clunk.

The "pull in" feature of the solenoid is dependent on the starter windings being intact and the brushes making contact. The solenoid internal coil grounds through the starter post.

If you get near starter voltage from the starter stud (not the solenoid stud) to ground when trying to start, and the starter is not responding, good chance the brushes are worn or gummed up from the diesel leak.
