Exactly how does one use the glow plug indicator on the dash of a Kubota B6200?

I have a b7200. If it's the same, I watch through the hole until I see the coil glowing red, then start. This time of year it's maybe ten seconds. In the coldest part of the year, I let it glow for as long as 30-45 seconds.

At start up you turn the ignition key to the left until the indicator glows red hot. Then it's ready to start.
