What happened?

I posted about foreign ownership of US farmland.
Saw it about 6:30 last night and it seemed normal - except David G posted his usual whacky stuff.
David, I really wish you wouldn't reply to my posts.

so does that mean your posts that yours are not subject to any comment

Just a guess, but maybe the server picked up on a word or phrase that triggered an automatic action?

The topic is intrinsically political. David's comments and many others every day on many topics are important. Wacky as a category defines the author as non-aligned with your thinking. I take exception to about 30% of edgy comments on here, but defend the right of free expression. We would not be here if we were perfectly alike in thought. Take no offense at this (my) reaction to this post, just remember we are fortunate to have the right to be free to comment as we see fit. With humor, advice, or difference of opinion. The moderators have clear guidelines. They further cannot be micromanaging individual responses, and choosing what they think is, or is not, in alignment with those standards. Removal may have been from a spammer that reacted to your ideas. With respect, Jim

I am pleased to provide wacky comments, as that must just mean I have a different opinion than some one else.

Yes, comments can agree of disagree with the original post as long as some respect and decency is included. This post is definitely within the Tractor Talk category, ie farms relate pretty closely to tractors obviously. And then foreign ownership starts to edge its way into the political realm. All fair game in this case I would say. But for those that have a REAL off-topic post (and even acknowledge it as OT in the post's title), I do not understand why more of us don't start using Tractor Tales. I never did until a few months ago and although not as popular as Tractor Talk, there's a lot of good stuff shows up there. Give it a try, you won't get as much attention but you'll at least feel good that you are following the guidelines set out by the webmaster.

It's a PUBLIC forum. If they are too "whacky" the moderators will take care of it. You don't have the option of choosing which replies to your "goofy" posts will be allowed.

I have not seen this whacky stuff you speak of. If David is authoring whacky stuff please give an example as I'm always interested in this kind of thing. (Yes I know I'm putting myself out there as a target since I'm not exactly "mainstream" in my comments).

I know exactly what you are saying, anytime someone posts anything about a television show on this site there is a guy that always berates anyone who uses that form of entertainment. I really wish he wouldn't reply those posts.

Everybody here has a wack job comment every now and again on here. I still read them i guess my skins a little thicker than most. Non of this stuff bothers me and if it did i wouldnt be here. Sooo in saying that David you no more wacky than the rest of us LOL. Type on

Maybe a guy who watches a lot of tv gets so used to whacked out stuff that he can't tell a good idea from a bad one.

Not picking a side, but this is NOT a public forum...this is a privately held "company" and they set the rules, there is NO 1st amendment right that holds here. if you want to make a forum then YOU get to make the rules, in this instance, YT makes the rules, if you dont like threads getting removed, then you can buy server space and start your own "public forum"...

i cant stand the stupid comments that people on both sides of the fence make, because they are just dumb and only make things worse. there are a LOT of people on here who are so wrapped up with the "orange man bad" syndrome just as there are a lot of demon rats are destroying the country...blah blah blah....

It would be different if the idiots wouldnt make stupid one line "zingers" about how the other side is stupid instead of trying to have a genuine conversation without trying to run their opposition side down....

worst thing is it always seems to happen when there are some interesting ideas posted and dumb azz hats seem to thing injecting their polly-ticking side into it....

again, no wonder FIT left....harder and harder to find topics worth engaging in
