International 56 corn planter

Putting a new hydraulic cylinder on my IH 56 corn planter, and was wondering do I need down pressure or can I get by with making one hose for the cylinder?

No down pressure necessary.

Depends on your tractor, some will only work with 1 hose, some with only 2 hoses and some can be set either way. If your tractor is made for only a 2 way 2 hose setup and yoy try to run it on 1 hose you could dammage your tractor.. If your tractor is made for only one hose the second would have to be a vent only. Planter will work either way but tractor may not.
