Where can I get a factory service manual for my 1972 gmc c50 . Haynes And chilton need not apply

Call them and ask, they have lots of stuff besides what's listed, you might luck out, a good company to deal with.

That being said, I'm not sure what factory stuff is out there for the "mediums".

Lacking success there, look on ebay for a "MOTOR" truck repair manual covering that year, will have separate sections for the engine, transmission, rear axle, etc..
 
Bob is right on about Faxon and Motors manual truck edition.

The 71 GM manual would be close.
The 73 is a different body style.

eBay is where I would look. There are vendors with large collections of that type of literature that go to shows, flea markets, and the like. They usually also have a presence on eBay as well.

There is also a possibility that the original publisher may have NOS manuals in stock. I know that most manufacturers had their manuals printed by a third party publisher. I think the name was something like Helm.
