hi I have a question about a deutz dx 130 I had a new clutch put in it a year ago at a repair shop and only did light work with it since. it acts like the clutch is slipping again so I took it back to the repair shop but since they don't specialize in deutz they don't know whats going on. is there something else that could be slipping on this tractor such as the Powermatic? if anyone has any ideas of where to look or what to check I would very much appreciate it thanks

I have repaired MANY Deutz tractors years ago, but not so much on the DX series. The 130 06 model would slip the quill shaft under heavy loads with high hours. I have laid on my back and ate many sparks welding the quills in place for guys who didn't want to spend money on repairs. 06 series have a inspection plate you can pull off the bottom and look up and see this shaft. Last one I changed was over a grand just for the shaft alone. Some will work fine under light load, but slip when pulled hard. Al

thank you I will look into this and see what I can find... do u know anything about the Powermatic can that slip like a ta on a international tractor? or if the hydraulic pump is bad will that cause something to slip? I'm also wondering about the actual clutch slipping again already is there something that my repair shop could of done wrong or not adjusted right? my options seem to be find the problem myself or scrap it because the repair shop near me doesn't want to mess with it anymore thanks so much for any help u can give me

If you find out let me know got a dx 4.30

Hello, old topic i see but im in the exact same situation and am wondering if your issue was ever resolved?
I have a Dx130 with a new clutch that worked fine and it is now slipping in anything over low gear, i took off the clutch side cover under the ladder and can see in, the clutch doesnt look too worn from what i could tell.
Is the powermatic engaged by oil pressure like the Oliver/White tractor over and direct drive was? It almost seemed like it slipped and as i revved it higher during the slip it caught more as if it built oil pressure and grabbed better.
So far the best idea i have is to paint that area of the clutch i can see and run a jumper from starter to the cab so i can start it in gear and cause the slip, then line that paint area back up and see if the clutch disk slipped in the pressure plate to eliminate one of the 2 possibilities.

Thanks in advance for any help or ideas someone may have!

It sounds like your "powermatic" is a two speed power-shift. Most power shifts are held in one speed by springs and the other by hydraulic pressure. If your hydraulic pressure is low it is going to slip. You could start by checking filters and screens, and then check pressure by plumbing a gauge into one of your SCVs. Look up in your manual to see what it should be. The hydraulic pump may be going bad.
