What a wasted day

This time of the year I should be mowing every day. It has rained almost every morning, and not dry enough to mow in the after noon. I did get the fuel filter changed on my JD, about the only constructive thing I did with my tractor. Hope you had a better productive day. Stan

nfortunately, not. Been rained out almost without a gap since November.

When I was seeding wheat two of the scraper brackets broke on the IH 510 drill. They also hold the bottom of the rubber seed tube. I found one of them the next round and welded it back together but had to buy one new one. Anyway what a pita to try and slip those seed tubes back on the box. Especially the new one. I'm embarrassed to say that project took me 4 hours.

I have a he11uva backache! Planted about 400 trees today, tomorrow I'm going to take some time off to go fishing, after planting another 100 in the morning. Another 1000 next week, it's getting awful dry here, hope we get some of your rain.

My day wasn't quite that bad, To wet to work here SE Il. Went to the grand kids awards ceremony at grade school. Had 6 getting awards. Came home and mowed on the yard. It is wet! Threw grass on house and walk. I'm in trouble. Started putting new sleeves in my Allis D17 diesel pulling tractor. Won't go. O-rings on sleeves are to big. Called engine builder. Looks like they shipped 049 instead of 048. Somehow doesn't surprise me. Can't order till Monday. May get Thursday. Reckon it will run this summer? Will we ever plant corn?

White spruce seedlings, less than a foot high. Replanting an area that had hybrid poplar/cottonwood, they were harvested 2 years ago, planted them 20 years ago.

Rain is job security for you... The more it rains the more it grows, the more it grows the more you mow...

Very dry here, can't remember when it rained last. I've been tilling gardens and fields in a cloud of dust. I had to spend time getting the irrigation pipe set up so we can water the grass and garden before it burns up....of course June is coming up and it will probably be cold and rainy....
