New Holland 630 round baler question

Evening to all. Once again I?m here seeking wise counsel. A bearing on top sledge roll needs replaced. Actually gonna do both. I?ve got the roll out of
the baler. But can?t see the best way to remove the bearings. Locking collars are off. What?s next step? TIA

I just cut them off with a torch. But a angle grinder with a cutting disk will work also. Cut both sides 180 degrees apart.

A torch will make quick work of them.

When I torch a bearing off, I cut away all the outside, the outer race, ball cage, get down to the stuck inner race.

But instead of cutting the inner race and risking damage to the shaft, heat one spot really hot, then hit the hot spot with a hammer. That will spread the metal and relax the grip. It should slide off easily without damage to the shaft.

On some of those bearings the housing is bolted to the roller and you have to buy the whole assembly from the dealer. You might try Froedge machine in t-ville. If you are not familiar with them, they sell bearings, and have a machine shop. They straightened a stub shaft on my roller, that no one else would attempt.

I find on most parts that hdr doesn't have in stock, I can order them from messicks just as cheap and they arrive in about the same time as it takes hdr to get it on their stock order. Good luck. Nathan
