Got a phone call from our son last night. He works for Missouri State University. Said he was headed for Camdenton, Mo for work today. I immediately thought of Old whom I've never met in person but feel like we are acquainted through this forum. It is interesting how a place becomes more than just a dot on the map when you know of someone living there.

He will not find much in Camdenton but it is where I so happen to live well sort of I am 7 mile from town and 3 of those miles are gravel and or my driveway. Sent you an e-mail also

There is more than was 35-36 years ago. Went thru there last July. Couldn't belive the traffic. Yes Old is out in the contry , visit with him about 10 years ago.

Sadly many of the better thing that where here say in the 80s and 90s are not more and much of what is here now is not worth your time t go to. Back in the 80s/90s/ there was a number of lawn mower shops and a lot more fast food places and food stores but not now. Osage Beach well the engineer who figured out the road and the bypass should have to be made to drive it every day for a year because it sucks. Many place had to go out of business due to people not being able to get to there places while they redid the roads

Several years ago I had a boy about 15 years old who was in foster care working for me, he was born in Camdenton and his mother tried to raise him without a father. She bought him a BB gun for 9th birthday. First day with new gun he thought he could shoot tires with his new gun, He chose to shoot the tires of the sheriff's daughters bicycle. He missed and shot the girl in the leg. He was sent to Boonville where he learned to smoke and eat candy bars. After getting out of Boonville he had no source of cigarettes and candy. He tried shoplifting, but got caught, He was sent to Algoa, where he learned other vices. After Algoa he was in foster care and helped me on the farm. Foster home moved away and never heard of him again. He was a likable kid but the system failed him. I think of him when I hear of Camdenton. I know this is OT but it jogged my memory of thiis boy

Yes and it is geared to sports more then education. Plus it is a no one left behind school so if the kid doe not pass the grade there in so what they go to the next no matter what
