Dexta Oil Leaks

Hi All,
It is high time for me to fix the clutch on our Dexta!
I split her this evening, and there was masses of engine oil in there, and you would have thought that it was a wet clutch!
Will this fix the problem? http://nz.sparex.com/rear-crankshaft-seal-assembly-41494.html
I bought a steering main nut replacement, and it wouldn't screw on...any ideas why?
Thanks!
Joshua

Any time you can get away from a rope seal, I'm all for it!

But a new seal can only do so much. If the engine is loose and has excess blow-by, a new seal will only last so long.

But a rubber seal is more forgiving than rope, so I would say go for it.

Might look at the transmission seal too. Where an engine seal dumps oil behind the flywheel, the trans seal will dump directly into the clutch, so it doesn't take much.

Thanks Steve. I thought that it was a rope seal? What seal would you use if not this??
What seal do I use for the transmission?
Thanks!
