tierod bushing?

Does anyone know of place that would sell replacement tierod bushings. It's not for this JD really but it does need it. It's for my trencher. The hole would have to be machined out and a bushing welded in.

A tapered reamer is available to go to the next size. (measure the taper of yours). A bushing could be made to adapt yours to that new size. (Machine shop work) Or the existing hole could be welded closed and re-drilled/reamed to be good as new. Jim

Take a steel lid from a soup can, cut a strip about 1" wide and wrap it around shank,1 or 2 wraps depending on ware. Don't overlap ends. Stick shank and wrapped shim into tapered hole and tighten it down. A piece of steel roofing also works. A cheap and simple fix.

I used jb weld on an old dodge truck before held for quite awhile don?t know how long it would work on a tractor though

Try a flat washer and the lock nut together. I would add some Lock Tight bearing and race too. After it is tight smack it with a hammer to seat the taper.

Never seen one that a guy couldn't tighten up with a flat washer to two, I'm with 504 one this on.

One of my tractors had that problem. I drilled out what was left of the taper and used a heim joint (rod end bearing) instead, a lot cheaper that a tie rod and taper repair.
