Galaxy Tires

Hi guys just curious if any of you guys have galaxy tires on any of your equipment. Looking at a set of 13.6 38s for a farmall m with a one row cotton picker mounted on it . Not going to be a field tractor just for show .

Not galaxy but I?ve got some one year old alliance brand on a tractor I use for heavy tillage and they will be lucky to last another 2 years I will probably run them this year then switch them to duals and hope they will last on that job a little while they are cracking at the lugs before long I suspect the lugs will eventually rip off the tire carcass . A 400$ tire doesn?t buy you much

I put a new Galaxu tire on the Cockshutt 40 a while back. Actually near 20 years ago but it still seems new to me. A 13x38. Seems good except for the cut in the side wall where I hit a culvert while cutting grass.

I have run some of the 28" and they did OK, hope the larger ones are OK I just bought a set of of 18.4 x 34 8 ply. They are new never run Gov't knockoffs from some type of tractor
they changed out tires on.Gave $500 for the pair going to put them on my Oliver 1650.

I had set no issues good tire. Had them quite a while. On 4 wheel drive but sold the tractor.

Very pleased with a Galaxy tire on my 8N. Tractor gets used and abused all the time year around.

Put a set of the Earth Pro 45's on a 4 cylinder 4000 about a year ago. No problems. Tractor gets used for bush hogging, box blading, plowing, and just moving stuff around.

I put a pair on a Case 1490 maybe 20 years go. That tractor is long gone but the tires were cracking in front of the lugs after 3-4 years.

I bought two 13.6/38s last fall, put one on and will be putting the other on tomorrow, I just got the old tire off that side last week and cleaned up the rim. So far the one I have been running has been good, but too soon to know for sure, I guess. It was a good price, but with the tubes it was still over $1k and I did the mounting myself.

I have Titans on a new, 2007 Branson FEL, 4wd. I bought in the year. Front tires are 10 ply R1s and fat, 18" wheel, forget the numbers. Figured a new
tractor shouldn't have cracking tires.....rears are Titans 16.9x28 and were and still are fine and replacement fronts are showing small concentric crack
lines liek the original but not growing. Bought the tractor, took the tires to the local Titan dealer, he contacted Titan, Titan made it good, he changed
them I went home and that was that. I have Kelly Springfield 2000s 13.6x28s I put on a Ford 2000 and 3000 at least 20 years ago, kept under a car port
roof thingie and no cracks anywhere to date.

After reading an ad on a tire mfgrs. www, I found out that "plasticizers" are put in the tread compound to keep it supple but move through the compound
as the tire is flexed....in short it appears that if the tires just sit, they'll crack. If they are kept in motion they are crack resistant....depending on the
amount and type of plasticizer. Also, I find that some tires are flat, dull in finish on the outside when new and others are shiny. My gut feel take on the
subject is that the ones that feel slick and shiny have an abundance of plasticizers and will resist cracking the longest........my take, worth what you paid
for it. Grin
