My dad drove over yesterday and he jumped in the truck with me and Minnie mo Mick. Headed up to AGJim's place. Got a motor for the Allis B! Also a few other parts, including something I've never seen. An electric starter that goes on the PTO. Remove belt pulley add a gear plate and starter. Looking forward to getting it going. My dad had a blast visiting with Jim. If anyone ever gets near North East Alabama a stop at his place is a must. Great guy ,tons of knowledge and more cool stuff than you can see in one afternoon! Formerly NY Bill will agree!!

a most enthusiastic thumbs up!!! thanks to Kevin for connecting me with Jim while we were in the area last year to sell a house. Jim likes things that are different, and he sure has a bunch!
nice guy, too. one example- we took the car to Al from NY. when we get there, I see signs all over for an estate tractor and car auction that I would like to go to. my wife needs the car that day, so I ask Jim if he is going and can I can ride with him? he says sure. OK, so if I buy something, can I store it at your place until I come back in June for Red Power Roundup? grins and says sure. he can see where this is going. Uhhh, so if I get something (it would have to be small enough to fit in my pickup to haul back to NY), could I get you to haul it on your pickup from the auction, back to your place? Yup. so that's what we did. I bought some things I hadn't seen in NY until now. Thanks again, Jim.

and I hadn't been aware of a starter like that, either.

If your B is too early for a starter, and you have the motor out, good time to replace the torque tube with one with a starter hole...and switch the flywheel for one with a ring gear. Check your new motor to see if it is tapped for a generator mounting bracket.
