I thought I needed to change fuel filter

Instead the 90 degree fitting on the gas tank was full of crap.

I think the gas cap may have been part of the problem.

I added an O ring to cap. There wasn't anything in the filter.

You may want to drain the tank ? and install a stand pipe and/or screen to that fitting.

Mike,
I did drain the tank and got nothing. Tank is the hood on the terramite. It's hinged at the front. I shook the tank and got nothing.
I'll keep and eye on the see through filter for any sigh of crap.

You need one of these stuck into that elbow up into your tank. A little smudge of heavy duty epoxy if that thing has a loose fit. Problems solved.

The 90 on my Jubilee has a screen. The screen got blocked because the inside of the gas tank was flaking off.

I think it might be better to improve the screen at the gas cap. Keep the crap out of the tank.

Good news is nothing got to the carb.

It's very easy to clean carb. Remove 4 screws and the top comes off. Had to blow it out when I bought it 11 years ago.

I'm glad it was an easy fix.

Kohler command has 2000 hours. Plugs are clean. Doesn't use oil. Starts easier than the a 20 hp Honda which is cold blooded. Kohler starts and ready to go to work.

Going to give you a lesson on that filter screen. It is NOT a filter. Your very well designed machine has that as a Safty feature. It is an explosion proof gas tank. Don't Ever remove that thing. What it does is if you ignite the fumes as you are filling the tank that screen robs the flame of heat and your tank doesn't blow up. Every Eagle saftey can I have has those built into the filler neck. Great thing your machine has!

When I add fuel to anything I use a funnel with a screen.

I'm thinking come of the crap is from the gas station.

I made another screen that fits my gas cans and plan to filter the gas going into the can.

It looks like the crap in the 90 may have been there a while, possibly from previous owner.
