I spent many hours on a 1466. The Deere
equivalent would be a 4620. The 46 was
heavier, but the 14 would run circles
around it. We had a neighbor who had a
1066 and a 4620 and the 10 would give the
46 a run.

I have to laugh at these posts, back in the day, a hardcore JD man had the biggest baddest turbo charged 4020 in the country. His words, not mine. His fence row neighbor, and friend of mine, waited till Sam pulled into his field with the 4020 and his 4x14 plow. Bud pulled in across the fence with a hopped up MF 1130 pulling a 8x16 plow. Bud could lap him every round. Sam did not show up for coffee for a month.:)

Lol, no! Case didn't make one that big the vintage of Loren's 930, the 1030 like mine was biggest til 69 and it's rated at 101hp. The 1466 is rated at 130 hp and would be comparable to a JD 4630 or Case 1270. Lorens 930 is about 85 horse rated. With his overbore kit he likely runs around 100 hp. Of course Case uses bigger horses to rate their tractors, so you get more done per horse.

Here's a Case getting ready to go to the field with 6.

Not as perty as Loren's, but soon.

You pay more when you buy them too, the only thing that resale value does for anyone except the few that buy them new is tie up money better used elsewhere for the entire time. Just what farmers need is extra money tied up and unusable when things are already tight.

4-14 s can be pulled by a 50 horse tractor. It won t set speed records but it can be done. A 4020 at factory horsepower is darned near twice the tractor and will play with 4-14 s.

Got a chuckle at the diagram. The oil point "B" is the manual brake rigging and equalizers before hydraulics. Can you imagine someone being told to slide under with a pump oil can and oil the brakes. Talk about lube. On the farm we had an Allis Chalmers hay rake. Talk about grease fittings all over the place! No kidding, it took almost 20 to 30 minutes if you hit every one.

Had a 76 model IH1566. Compared to JD it was a bit less refined but it sure was a great work tractor. I was looking for a JD 4630 at time and Deere was experiencing some problems getting them out to dealers. Found the IH 1566 with 20.8 rear factory duals and more HP for less money. It served our farm for many years with minimal problems. The 66 series of IH were great tractors in my opinion.

Always wanted a 1466 to go with the 1066
here. Missed a real good one a couple
years back for $2500!!! Had leaking
sleeve o-rings. A buddy of mine forgot to
tell me that the guy that owned it wanted
him to let me know he was putting it up
for sale. Except it was 3 weeks before he
remembered that he was supposed to tell
me! It was long gone by then.

That?s a dang nice tractor and that cab makes me jealous . I?ve almost given up my cab fantasies for a pair of insulated bibs and a good coat

Fiat cnh parts are no cheaper than Deere no matter how you look at it maybe if you compare used parts to new that and they are always two weeks away and John Deere has them in stock or in the next day .the local fiat charges freight for a simple part that takes a week or two to get her John Deere calls that a stock order and usually less than a week out .

The T?s had the room to get under there, but I always thought T?s were set oiling.

That's odd because I don't have those problems at my dealer. And I've never paid shipping unless they ship directly to my house. What are you doing at the case dealer so often anyway since you own all green equipment? Or is it all a made up story?
