I have a Brockway 49G tractor with the continental gas 4cyl engine. I've read that Brockway only made farm tractors for one year (1949) and manufactured 248 tractors total.
Can anyone verify this information ?

According to Tractordata.com Brockway built tractors from 1949 to 1952. I have never heard of them
so i had to look it up.

Had never heard of this brand of tractor. There was around 400 made from 1949 to 1952. Engines offered were 30 hp diesel or 42 hp gas. Half the tractor production was sold overseas. So that leaves maybe 200 made and sold in the states. Far fewer than that would be in existence today. That would be a rare tractor. No auctions or recent sales could be found to estimate a value.

I have a friend who has a Brockway. The story he told me was. When a Mr. Brockway started building tractors, they got sued by the Brockway truck company over using the name. So they changed the name of the tractor to Leader. Long story short.

There was one for sale not far from me probably nearly twenty years ago. There is one on display at Keystone truck and tractor museum south of Richmond VA.

Gentlemen .....Thank You all for the information. I especially enjoyed the YouTube video as it brought back so many memories of when Dad bought the tractor in the late fifties and converted three acres of swamp behind his house into a game farm using the tractor and an old military bulldozer.
And then his stupid 11 year old son thought it would be a fun toy and crashed the beautiful cast iron grill into an elm tree. Still makes me crack a tear thinking about it.
