Injector cleaner

the best cleaner is to use the tractor under load as a diesel should be and avoid prolong idling. some cleaners you need to make sure not to overdo it as it takes away from the lubrication of the fuel. there is so many injector cleaners out there that who would know is the best one.

When I use injector cleaner I add a quart of oil or ATF to the diesel fuel. Both lube the pump and ATF has an affinity to water and will remove moisture from the tank. .My friend was an Allis Chalmers dealer for over 45 years and they used ATF all the time to keep moisture out of tanks

I have also heard years ago that ford had friction modifiers in that oil to make the clutches bite. so I would be very leary of using type F oil in an injection pump where you have such fine clearances. I do not know exactly what that would do to a pump if anything. and yes seams lots of people use this oil but how do you know if any damage has been done. to me the 2 cycle engine oil is a better choice. also dextron oil may not have these additives. best to do research on stuff before adding to newly rebuilt pumps and injectors.

One of the best fuel system cleaners on the market is Chevron Techron concentrate (PEA additive). This additive is used in many other brands and blended into fuels, all at varying strengths. I heard BG 44K is a concentrated dose of this stuff too.
