when looking for information

There has been times on here that some of us want information and if not tractor related we catch hell because of that from other YT posters?? You know who you are or do I need to name names? I do appreciate all the help from you helpful people, Thanks.

Cuby?s point is the wise guys that sometimes belittle a persons post with smart @ replies that are not helpful or instructional. I?ve seen it a few times. If I can?t help a guy out with factual proof I?ll usually read someone?s post and keep on going rather than be a jerk. Cubby hit the nail on the head, I agree with him...

It?s funny guys will post back to you on this board but go on tales and post something and they won?t answer they don?t want the cool kids to know they associated with the misfit uncool kid

greayrider I have seen that hundreds of time since I have been on here in the past 23 years.

There is a common problem with all discussion sites that rely on script. You can not judge by their written word, weather they are just offering a friendly reply and making a suggestions to further help you, or busting on you a bit, or are really chastising you. You can't hear the tone of their voice, you can't see a smile on their face, or hear them raise their voice and shout at you. It doesn't hurt to be a bit thick skinned and don't take what is posted here to heart, and word for word.

SV I am going to say your attitude on here leaves lots to be desired. To me it comes across as a mouthy smart @@s always right and so on.

Kind of wondering what someone did to you on here? But yes I know what your talking about. If you think this is bad you should seen a certain chainsaw forum years ago, real bad.

Cuby, I just look at the whole OT thing like this: I am on modern view and I can tell by the posted subject if it is something that I care about or not. If I do I open it, if not I don't. I don't care in the least whether a post is on topic or not, and I have never made a comment about OT posts.

As for SV, I see your posts as entertaining and as I said earlier it looks to me like you are at the front of the "in crowd" so quit yer whinin' and get some work done, or take some candy to your sweetheart, LOL.

Cuby you are absolutely correct. But as someone else said part of it is just the nature of forums and this one is not the most hateful. I read WeldingWeb sometimes because the hatefulness there (toward new folks or poor welders particularly) can be as entertaining as the old Jerry Springer show. I would never post anything on that forum, but if you read it with the attitude that it is just entertainment then it does pass some time. I also look at this forum as entertainment - particularly when folks post medical or legal questions to this group. Good grief.

OK. That's not what I got from it,but if you say so. I took it that some folks will give you the devil for asking something like "Where's the best place to eat in Xenia Ohio?" if you're not on your way through there on a tractor related trip.

It is like you are asking for a direction and all they come up with is an eating place. That is not answering the question and that is what I see as the problem.

Leroy, nobody needs directions anymore, we all have GPS

Who was it that said, "If you don't have something good to say about a person, come sit by me!"

On a public forum you can control Your questions but you can't control the replys.
Get used to it.
If this place ever gets to where we have to soften our comments to suit the snowflakes a lot of people will be gone.

Wanna bet?

Haha Randy, I was actually thinking of you as I typed my response, LOL. Well, all but one or two.

Snowflake #1 here. Great illustration portraying the dis respect thrown about by some.
So if you can't denigrate and be rude to fellow posters you will leave? I don't know that would be mourned by the majority that enjoy and respect the knowledge and comradery displayed on this board.

Any questions that are not related to tractors, should be posted on tractor tales. I did not know that until a short time ago. Will some one harm you for not complying? NO. Some people want to live in a perfect world. Is that your problem? NO, it's theirs. So why get your nnalert in a bunch about it? I have my dislikes about some of what goes on here, but that is my problem and I am the one who needs to deal with that. I believe that we need to extend to others, that which we want for ourselves. After-all, we are each just one grain of sand on the beach of live. So let it go. Don't start a fight you can not win.

Cuby, don?t let the smart @?s discourage you from asking a question regardless of their replies, it makes some folks feel big to be a smart @ especially with the anonymity of this forum. I?m sure some people don?t ordinarily make smart @ comments in person or when their identity is known. Anytime you have a question please ask, you should get some very knowledgeable feedback on the YT forums....

I've got some of my best stories by getting lost. Or "taking the scenic route" as I like to call it. LOL

a lot gets said here on the ole web that would never be said face to face. like in the days of the cb radio people where big and bad while hiding behind a microphone or in this case keyboard
