Rusty picture of the day a few days ago showed an Oliver 70 with spoke wheels ,front and back. Unusual feature? Anyone have one like that?

Is this the one you're speaking of?

Common on the rear, but I'd say it was at least unusual on the front. Most with spoke rear had cast fronts.

Probably came new on steel all around and when owner decided he wanted ruber the spokes were cut of and rims for rubber tires welded on. And Grandpo, a question for you. Would you post the name of a larger town close by so I could look at a map and see about what part of the state you are in? Maps I would have would not have smaller towns on. Thanks

Found it. Not quite halfway to middle of state from north and about a third of the way in from the east. I myself live about halfway between Dayton, Oh and Michigan state line in Ohio and 30 miles from the Indiana line.

no, they are FRENCH & HECHT WHEELS , made for pretty much every tractor and machinery around. nothing odd there! tractors, combines, implements, whenever u see round spoke wheels , that's what they are.
