39 Allis B carb

I have had the carb soaking for 5 weeks in a gallon of carb cleaner. The choke will now move a little. It's still nasty. Is it worth saving? The bowl had water in it at some point and froze. A nickel size piece broke off. Unfortunately it's where one of the screws go to put it back together. Can this be fixed? JB weld? Brazing? Or does anyone have a carb that will fit for sale. Thanks.

This is the only tag on it. Float is pretty much gone. Never seen one ate up like that.

I had a similar situation on an Oliver 60. Ordered a 'new' carb from All States/Abilene,etc.IIRC,it cost around $300,buy was better junking my son's $100 tractor.

I can't read the tag, but this site shows to have a rebuilt carb available.

They may or may not accept the core being it is broken.

I would go that route instead of trying to repair the broken bowl.

I would also prefer the rebuilt OEM carb over the new aftermarket "fit all" version.

After I posted this I checked with Jim. He says he thinks the " new " motor has a carb on it........ planning to go get it in the next week or so.....
