Shoulda stopped sooner

I was out planting yesterday when a 10 minute rain squall came through. I had just started a round when it started raining lightly and I thought I could surely finish that round. At the far end it started raining harder and about half way back the wheels of the planter started sliding. I folded it up and headed home. By time I got home (1/2 mile) it had stopped raining. It took more than 2 hours to dig the mud out this morning.

ADB--Don't feel bad--we have all done it at least once. Learned to pick the planter up and drive to the other end or pick it up and shut everything off.---Tee

WOW.... that looks like the mix used in those ram wall houses in the south west. Adobe. Would a Big pressure washer do the job? Bet it was a fun afternoon.

I did a funeral home kid north of you in Nevada. I learned you have 3 types of dirt down there. Black clay, brown clay, and gray clay.

Last round last year same thing happened to me. I only have a 6 row and no cab. Rained so hard on the way back that I missed the pie shape at the end of the field, couldn't see anything water running out of my boots. Probably two weeks before its dry here. Good luck planting. Jim

I've loaded a planter up some in the past. But not like that we could just go along and knock it off with out hand or go plant and it would fall off. I quit when it starts to rain not worth all the work and having to replant the last bit.
We can't even think about going to the field yet. Need a boat to see the field.

BTDT too. Last time it happened i drove to a grassed waterway on the edge of the field and dropped the planter in the grass and planted in the grass with the seed turned off. I have electric drives so it was a flick of the switch to shut off the seed. The rain was pouring down. A lot of the mud cleaned off but not all of it. Hope I dont have a repeat this spring.

Gosh, I dunno, I think you stopped WAY before you needed to!

It doesn't count unless you had to go and retrieve broken off parts out of the field once it dried up enough to allow such activity!
