Last weeks snow storm brought orangish brownish snow to the Dakota?s, Minnesota and Iowa. Rumor has it Texas dust was sucked up into the storm. That had to be a lot of dust. Rod.

Here in Mn. we might say,,,that item is black as dirt. So in Texas do they say things like,,,that fire truck is red as dirt?

Really crazy, I?m not used to seeing that color as snow melts.

That was an ugly wind that day, blew the door on the porch open and busted.

Had it in west central Iowa too. I vacuumed leaves and couldn't believe how dirty I was upon finishing. It reminded me of some red dirt and mud somewhere else.

I'm in a part of southern Minnesota where lots of limestone quarrying takes place. When I saw the brownish snow all I could figure was dust from quarrying, although it's a little early in the season for full-blown quarrying and hauling to begin. The Texas/New Mexico dust explains it.

That explains a lot, came out of work and the car, that was parked in a paved lot was full of dirt as was the truck that was sitting at home, thought it was a bit odd as they haven't started field work around here yet. I guess I know where it came from and since I washed it off I hope they don't want it back.
