What types and how much (TRANS. OIL)and (HYD OIL)are used in a B414 IH diesel. Also where is the best place to drain, check and fill these oils from. WITH NO DIP STICKS IN THE TRANS. OR THE HYD WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CHECK THESE OILS....thanks for any help

JHytran from CaseIH, or Hyguard from John Deere. Do not believe a clerk at a TSC that this equals that. It must be labeled as Equal. The check points are not
known by me. Jim

Hi, I have the original Operator's Manual for the B-414D that my Dad purchased in late 1961 and on page 74 it states that
Hydraulic reservoir capacity is 2.5 Imperial Gallons (3.0 Gal USA).
On page 58 Lubrication Guide for Hydraulic Lift from 32 to 80 Degrees F use Tractor oil 20W. We used to use Non-detergent 20W
oil but Non-detergent oil became unavailable and switched to IH Hytran hydraulic oil.

The filler plug is a pipe plug on top of the hydraulic hosing behind the seat and above where the 3pt top link connects.
The full mark is when you look down in the filler hole there is a self looking structure and full is oil above the shelf.
If it has been run low and air gets in the system it may take a few refills to achieve the proper lever.
DON'T overfill as there is not much room for expansion.

Used to have a 3414 industrial, should be close. Hytran or any good ISO 46 hydraulic fluid. Is the hydraulic unit on top of the rear end under the seat? That's how mine was and I think there was a fill plug on top of the housing. 3 gallons as I recall. Rear end/transmission gets 80W-90 gear lube. Look for a plug on the side of the transmission and fill to that level. It's been a long time and I'm going on memory so double check.
