Got the standby generator out! :) Really like the 25Kw and the old 4010 handles it just fine. Stay safe everybody!

I have a PTO generator also. Always wondered about running it in the snow or rain in the open. Will is suck rain and snow in the end of it? I have not had to run it in wet weather yet. I was going to build a cover for it that would fit right on the two wheel cart. It would be an enclosed cover with some vents.

The generator is not the issue- however, the tractor air intake is. That"s why some install their genny hookup in a pole shed, so the tractor can be inside.

PTO units are built to withstand a little rain and snow. The rotor and stator are coated to keep out the elements.A nice dry working space would be nice. But not really needed. I would be more concerned about the tractor systems.

I don't know how safe I would feel with tractor exhaust inside. Just wait until you breathe your last like Big John per Johnny Cash.

I mowed my yard yesterday in ohio. The temperature thing in my truck said 80 degrees yesterday afternoon. Don?t know what?s going on.

I had mine pulled out and tractor plugged in just in case power went out. My hookup is inside the shed so can keep the generator inside and bring the door down to keep most of the snow out and the tractor is outside. Had a few brief outings here but most didn't last more that 10 minutes.
Twice in the last month that I had it out and ready to go.
I think we ended up with 17" of snow on top of the inch of ice

Diesel might not be so bad with some venting......

Friend of mine was power washing his hog barn, with 2 doors open.

All of a sudden things got kind of still in side his head and he couldn?t get any air.

Fell over. Said he could see and think fuzzy, but he couldn?t move.

Must have been a little fresher air on the ground, as he got a tad better and was able to roll/ crawl to the door. Had to lay a long time outside the door, couldn?t get his bearings under him.

Ended up going to the hospital, they said he was ok but cut it pretty close, should rest for a day.

I?d be concerned with running a tractor inside a shed. His pressure washer was just inside one of the open doors I guess.

We had "blinking" power all afternoon. Power company said they had "galloping" lines. But no long outage. I have a 5k Honda genny in the corner of the shop/garage. Cord can reach the service box outside. 2 inch exhaust pipe through wall.

Nice! We could've used that yesterday... no power from 5:30am until 11pm.

A lot of folks in SE MN are still without power... and news was saying that some might not get any until Monday.

I take it you never use your tractor outside when it is raining or snowing?

Plenty of equipment runs in the great outdoors in all weather conditions...
