So now it charges fine - took it our to feed last night and just when I had my bale loaded the tractor started "sputtering" and died in about 20 seconds...or so; Never had a stitch of trouble before. The fuel gauge said 1/4 tank - looked in the tank and looked dry so I put in 5 gals of Diesel; pulled the filters they were empty; now trying so prime system but wont start. Im putting some air in tank to purge the air out of filters and lines...wont pick-up. Also wont fire on Ether....thats very strange. Anyone know about these motors? Life should be this damn hard. Thanks.

I have ran my 1030 out of fuel and my 930 as well. These old gals can be a bearcat to get going again with just the primer pump. So I don?t count on the fuel gauge anymore, I just put fuel in at the start of the day, or have a quick look into the tank to get an idea. I found the easiest way to restart either one of my tractors is to get my son to tow me while riding on the tractor while in high gear. After a short distance it will pop right off. If it stalls again, just repeat. If you have no one to help you by towing the tractor as I have done. After you put fuel into the tank, and opened the bleeder screws, you can blow some compressed air into the tank with a air tank, or even a hand pump. A length of hose with you blowing through it can work to. Just hold your hand over the fuel fill with the cap off, and hose into the tank through between your thumb and hand, But don?t try to make a perfect seal, it?s ok if some air leaks back out. The pressure you put into the tank will force the diesel through the lines and fill the filters. I have done this , works well.

Probably need more fuel in the tank. If you can get fuel to come out the second filter I have taken a clean oil can and filled the third filter till full. Like Bruce says put it in 6th gear and pull it with another tractor....quicker and easier.

Yes and thanks - going out now to try more- I had to come in and fill the air tank; what about the deal that it wont try to start on starting fliud..thats not right. Thanks.......... and yes Im by myself.

Crack one injector line while starting or pulling. Once it runs close line.
Either won?t make it run if it has NO fuel. Found that out once too.

I ran 3 tanks of air thru the system yesterday- purged air from first two filters but couldnt get fuel to the third so I did what you suggested; I rigged an oil can with a hose on the end and filled the third filter- started within a few trys...thank you much Sir! And to all of you....thanks.
