I am looking for the Vertical Leveling Arm (the part that lets you adjust your drawbar, by winding it up or down) for a 300 IH Utility. The tractor is a 1955. The tractor number is 17993 SJ. The top of the leveling arm cast, where the pin goes through, is what broke. The number on this part is 529983 R1. The bottom part of the unit number is 520 58R1. I would like to try to keep the tractor original, but if no original part is available, I would try an aftermarket part if it was compatible? I love my 300 IH Utility....I still do some tillage with it(about 2-3 acres a year, and we us it to rake hay). The 300 U has been a true workhorse for us over the years.....in the past, it was used, as the sole farm tractor, for 150 acres, It later was used as a log skidder to take timber off of the farm. It, then, was pulled in the barn and left set for about 15 years to die. Then one day we pulled it out of the barn. We were trying to decide to keep it or junk it. My Dad said if it starts we will keep it, but if it doesn't, we will junk it. Low and behold(with a little starting fluid and fresh fuel) it snorted, sputtered and fired up like a true steward warrior of the land. I guess it is kind of part of the family anymore, so any help with the part mentioned above would be very much appreciated.
