Delvac 15W-40 diesel oil

I think all the top name oils are fine. Even the private label oils are better than oils 50 or more years ago were. I use a private label oil here and have for several years with no issues I feel were related to the oil. Changing on a regular basis with the filter, I believe is more critical than the brand of oil.

I have 15 gallon of it bought last year and just recieved my 100 dollar rebate check from them for buying it. I think its great oil for my under worked collection. The tractors that make me money get high dollar oil. There is probably not a huge difference in 6 dollar a gallon oil vs 20 dollar a gallon oil but i am not going to risk it for what machines cost today.

Until I discovered Schaffer?s 15w40 delvac was all I used and was happy. Only reason I switch was because Schaffer?s grease was so good I figured their oil must be

When i talked to the cat people they tell me, Caterpillar oil is as close to Mobil, as they can with out infringment, and Mobil makes it for them! I have used it for years too.

It's one of the best, I don't think it has quite as much zink as Rotella, but it's fine, and cheap! L&M had it on sale for $37 for 5 gallon pail after rebate.

My Rotella 15-40 did the turn black quickly thing. Didn't bother me at all after only 10 or 12 hours running monthly in the shop. Just guessed it was cleaning things up and into suspension.

Firs off your question, It is good oil, was a Shell Rotela man till we had a cummins reman engine that would not seat and they suggested Delvac and it did the trick. Now your always shopping but &11.97 , that is what we paid but had a $5.00 rebate . The 11 bucks seems high. You will like the oil.

These hd diesel oils are designed to keep soot from clotting and setting into sludge. It keeps the soot suspended in the oil and in microscopic particles so they can NOT damage the engine. This is why the HD diesel oil turns black very very quickly. If it does not, it is NOT meeting the HD diesel specs,,, and should not be used.

$3 qt is less than I have been paying around my area for 15W-40,a friend of mine runs some big trucks with Cummins motors he had oil pressure problems with Rotela.

I bought some 15W-40 diesel oil at Fleet Farm. I think the brand name was "Farm Rated" or something like that. I had intended before to ask if anyone had any thoughts about that.

I haven't found any of the rebate deals in my area but I can live with $3 qt if its good oil, have about 15 tractors I need to change oil in this Spring.

Delvac has to be good or Mobil wouldn't sell it, I use Rotella in all the engines on the farm get it by the drum. its cheeper yet if you take your 55 gal drums to balk plant and have them refilled

While it is water under the bridge for you others may want to know.....

Mobil has a $6 rebate on gallon jugs of Delvac 1300 with a limit of 5 jugs.
The 2.5 and 5 gallon jugs have larger rebates.

The problem is Wal Mart is not a participating retailer so you can not get the rebate if you buy the oil at Wal Mart. While Wal Mart may offer you the lowest out of pocket price today if you are diligent enough to mail in rebates and wait for a check in the mail; and then take the time to cash this check; a participating retailer like Napa may be better for you.

Napa price today is $12.99 minus $6.00 rebate is $6.99 for 5 gallons.
That's $1.40 a quart.

Walmart is a participating retailer! I send for the rebates all the time through Mobil for purchases made at Walmart. They have approved every one of them! They do not show all of the participating retailers on the list!

Since he has already bought the oil from wall mart it does no harm to send in the rebate with the wall mart recite and see what they say.

I would just fear buying the oil from a retailer not
listed on the website thinking the rebate works
anywhere.

People have called Mobil and asked if they will accept the rebate for purchases made at Walmart and they said yes! This has been gone over already, Years ago! Like I said, Mobil themselves has said that all participating retailers are not listed on the website. I agree, that you should not assume that a retailer is a participating retailer before you buy. You should check into if Mobil will accept the rebate from the retailer that you plan on buying the oil from. It's that simple.

Here's a link to a post on another forum with people asking the same question about Mobil accepting rebates from purchases made at Walmart:

The local Fix it again tony has it for 13.00$ a gallon everyday the guy I?ve been working for uses it in everything he runs . I?ve started using it because it?s local and cheap . I was using Deere then went to valvoline now delvac . There is lots of study?s you can read up on that show there isn?t a dime worth of difference between Walmart super tech 15 40 and the 20$ a gallon stuff as far as dinosaurs are concerned .synthetics are better but that?s not a direct comparison
